The IRTA chemistry laboratory in Sant Carles de la Ràpita currently has a liquid chromatography (LC) system with row diode network (DAD) detection dedicated to the determination of amnesic toxins (ASP), another LC with detection by fluorescence (FLD) for the analysis of paralyzing toxins (PSP) and an LC coupled to a tandem mass spectrometry detector (MS / MS) for the analysis of lipophilic toxins including diarrheal toxins (DSP), as well as amnesics toxin confirmations and other toxins. Our laboratory belongs to the Network of Laboratories that conduct surveillance in the seafood production areas of Spain coordinated by the National Reference Laboratory for marine biotoxins.
